Updated: Nov 16, 2018

This is a First Time Ever for St. John's! For the town's Victorian Fair, from Friday 30 November to Sunday 2nd December, we are opening our Victorian church and welcoming people to light a candle and say a prayer for someone they love. The church will be lit up festively to coincide with the theme of Light, and we are also running a competition to make a home-made Christmas Wreath, using ANY materials! There will be prizes for children under 11, children aged 11-16, adults and businesses. It costs £1 to enter a wreath, and admission to the church us free. All wreaths will be displayed at St. John's church during the three days of the Festival. To enter a wreath, you can drop them off at St. John's between 11 am and 1 pm on Saturday 24th November, or take them to Mass that weekend, or ring 07790 631635 for alternative arrangements. You can also have a guided tour of the historic church, and in addition there will be two MUSICAL RECITALS from Resonations, a fantastic String Ensemble which is part of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. They will play at 12 noon and 2 pm on Saturday 1 December. Click here to see more about them. And you can always pop across the road to the Museum, where we a running a little Christmas fair on the Saturday, with stalls and refreshments. Come along for a great time! And support our efforts!
