Here are our new planters - and a bench!

franceslevett

Here are the planters newly made by people with learning difficulties. We will let you see them as soon as they are full of flowers and giving out a message of beauty, joy and hope to all who pass the church door.Meanwhile, we are very grateful to the people from "Support & Connections" who have provided such a well-made accessory.

Note the bench, too. It has come from St Peter's where it originally stood in a magnolia and rose garden located to the liturgical north of the church, a garden long since abandoned. The bench found its way to the rear of the house, and more recently was moved to St. John's It is a magnificent hardwood bench which we hope to restore to its former glory - and would be pleased to get some help to do this! It carries a memorial to Violet Elena Green, and we also have another beautiful green copper plaque to the memory of this lady. We plan to install this on the wall of the memorial garden, close to where the bench is now a welcome place for people to rest, contemplate and pray; an oasis of peace in the heart of the town.
