Donations for the East Window

matt

The East Window at St John's has been removed for some much needed restoration and conservation. As a group we are delighted that such a beautiful piece of Victorian stained glass will be preserved for future generations.

Currently the Parish has raised £3,000 of the £12,000 cost. As there are 350 pieces of glass, why not sponsor one piece of glass for £25. This could be for yourself or in memory of a loved one. Donations for the window can be made directly to the Catholic Parish of St John the Baptist (please visit window.meltoncatholics.com for more information).

If you wish to donate via the Friends of St John's, please send any monies to:

  • Ann Kirby, 40 Kings Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1QF

Please make cheques payable to 'Friends of St John's Church, Melton Mowbray'. Bank transfer is available on request. All donations may be Gift Aided.

N.b. The Friends of St John's (FOSJ) is a charity set up to help conserve, maintain and improve the fabric, furnishings and fittings of St. John’s, and its grounds, and to (1) support the upkeep of the building and its grounds and (2) foster public interest in the building and its grounds.

As a charity, monies raised by the FOSJ must legally, and through its own constitution, be paid to the Catholic Parish of St John the Baptist, Melton Mowbray. The Friends do not have, or claim to have, ownership or management rights over the building, its fabric, furnishings or fittings, which legally belong to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham, a registered charity, and are administered by the Parish Priest appointed by the Bishop of Nottingham.
